Economic development improved in 1987 with the addition of the Carson City Correctional Facility located just outside the city in Bloomer Township. Carson City offers a variety of businesses to service the people with a distinctive "small town friendliness". Carson City was awarded a tax-free "Renaisance Zone" status in 1997.

Carson City celebrated its Centennial in 1967. The community events were very successful and an annual community celebration began by 1973. In June of each year the community celebrates Frontier Days with a variety of festive activities.

Our Parks

A 50 acre park complex is on the West edge of Carson City. The park centers around Fish Creek, the area where the origingal settlers first built.

Included in the recreational area is a water cascade, a bridge across the creek, displays, volleyball and basketball courts, paved walking trail and a playground. An 8-acre pond offers shoreline fishing.

Grove Park located North on Williams Street is a smaller but quaint park. It features a small playground and pavilion for family gatherings.
