About Carson CitySettled in 1867, Carson City became an incorporated city in 1960 with the adoption of a city charter. Elected officials include a mayor and six council members. A city manager was hired in 1987 to administer the daily activities, the City Police Department and the City Fire Department. The fire department provides service through volunteer help around the clock. Montcalm County provides ambulance service on a 24 hour a day basis. Our Parks![]() A 50 acre park complex is on the West edge of Carson City. The park centers around Fish Creek, the area where the origingal settlers first built. Crystal LakeCrystal Lake is an all-sports lake totaling 724 acres in area. Located in central Montcalm County in the Village of Crystal this rural setting is within minutes of several major shopping and industrial areas. Crystal has several churches, its own elementary school, community organizations and downtown businesses. Crystal's homes range from small seasonal cottages to large, contemporary lake front homes. It is about five miles to drive, walk or bike around the lake. On the West side of the lake is a nine hole golf course. Crystal also has a roller rink, ice hockey, several ball fields, tennis courts and two parks. A stock care racetrack and a Moto-cross track are nearby. |
